"Celebrating Green (Three): Under the Willows at Beacon Hill Park" is my third drawing in a developing series on celebrating and honouring the colour green and the importance of what GREEN has come to mean to our perceptions of our reality in our world.
To be totally encompassed by 23 different hues of green and 33 other supporting colours is truly a magical experience. To be in a space of light that is totally saturated by such a variety of colour is powerfully peaceful and makes me feel super-cognizant that Earth itself is the commanding force by which I literally can live and must do so humbly. I want to honour these colours as follows:
A. Hues of Green: apple green; chartreuse; yellow chartreuse; lime-peel; grass green; light green; artichoke; ginger root; Prussian green; parrot green; dark forest green; olive green; moss green; kelly green; grey-green light; spring green; kelp green; marine green; green ochre; light aqua; bronze; muted turquoise; and jasmine.
Green is not just green. Green is complex and filled with a wide variety of hues, tones, shades, chromatic values, and intensities. Across the country and around the globe, landscapes of green profoundly influence and shape our very existence with their very different and vibrant personalities and characteristics as they encompass us. This reality is worth intimately knowing and honouring for sure.
