"An Invitation Into Slow Growth" is the title of this triptych within the Theme: From Doors Into Windows, which I now completed in August 2024. This oil painting on old wooden closet doors is of a specific place where I live in Surrey, British Columbia, called Redwood Park; a place where I love to stroll. It is a landscape which "GIFTS" me an invitation to look into so much - into a diverse and complex reality so much greater than ourselves. With grandeur, I am being shown that it takes a lot of time and patience to grow; and that we humans, too, are an integral part of this natural reality and are subject to what we sometimes think (maybe falsely) is "slow-growth". But, time is so relative isn't it? (My goodness! Look how fast that tree has grown): so much to learn and so much to look into.
